EGSA-AÉDÉ Annual General Meeting: 3:30-5:30 p.m., Oct. 7, LMX 388

This year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the EGSA-AÉDÉ will take place from 3:30 – 5:30pm on Tuesday October 7 in LMX 388.

The purpose of the AGM is to set the direction and priorities of the EGSA-AÉDÉ for the next year and to elect members to External Representative Portfolios. This year, a vote will also take place to elect or ratify the CUPE 2626 Steward for the Faculty of Education.

Members holding External Representative Portfolios are considered to be part of the Association Committee and may be subject to additional requirements.

The External Representative Portfolios requiring elections are as follows:

  • Faculty Council
  • Equity Committee
  • Educational Policy Committee
  • GSAÉD

Elections will be conducted by a secret ballot of EGSA-AÉDÉ Members present. Members may self-nominated or be nominated by other Members. A Member will be considered elected as an External Representative if he or she receives the most votes of all nominated Members. If a Member nominated for an External Representative Position is unopposed, his or her election will be a vote of confidence (Yes/No).

The CUPE 2626 Steward will also be elected at this meeting. This will be a vote of Members who are also members of CUPE Local 2626. Members must have had a CUPE 2626 contract in the past 12 months to be eligible to vote. For this vote, Members may be asked to produce proof of their employment contract or otherwise swear that they are eligible to participate in the vote.
