Systematic and Scoping Reviews & Covidence

Systematic reviews, scoping reviews, meta-analysis… these words elicit a reaction in every student researcher. The Critical Research Collective and our Faculty’s Expert Librarian, Patrick Labelle, have come together to present a workshop on what these terms mean, and how to use Covidence, an online tool that can make the review process a little easier. In particular, scoping and systematic reviews aim to gather references from many databases as well as other sources to help answer a specific research question. After running a comprehensive search, researchers need to screen hundreds and, perhaps, thousands of references using inclusion and exclusion criteria. To assist in this process, Covidence is designed to facilitate title and abstract screening as well as the evaluation of full-text articles. This webinar will provide an overview of Covidence, identifying important issues and best practices to adopt.L’atelier sera offert en anglais seulement, mais vous-pouvez envoyer vos questions et obtenir du soutien en communiquant avec Patrick par courriel (plabelle@uOttawa.ca).
